17s Rnd 6 South Coogee Red v's Roleystone @ Santich Oval PDF Print E-mail

Round 6 was Saturday night footy at Santick and the old rivals came out to play.  South Coogee grabbed the 1st goal but a great smother by Ryan and some good defence work by Michael stopped a certain goal.  Tigers applied some pressure and moved it forward quickly and Sean kicked a quick snap to even things up.  South Coogee stuck some good marks and kicked straight - they had notched up 4 goals by quarter time.

In the second South Coogee were running well but a questionable call by the goal umpire at the 12th minute gave South Coogee a point when it looked like it was out on the full.  In a close game a point can be a win or a loss.  Tigers applied more pressure that quarter and we got a couple of needed goals, but South Coogee were getting loose and marking well.  We needed to fight for the ball and man up.

At half time we were 23 points down.

The score ws gettable but South Coogee came out in the 3rd and booted 2 goals.  The game got nasty with some hard tackles turning into some push and shove.  Two players were sent off with yellow cards, Roley and South Coogee.  But we definately played better that quarter.

We needed to hold the tackles and hold them up they were running loose and using the space - and sticking the marks.  We lost by 59 points definately much work to be done.
