Roley Vs Lakes @ Dick Lawrence Oval.

Lakes had the ball into their goal square within seconds of the siren however their attempt at goal failed with Riley touching the ball. Lakes responded strongly scoring another 2 goals quickly. Some hard work by Roley with improved & commendable shepherding. Eddie took the ball into Roleys forward earning a point by Liam. James speed working well against Lakes. A 50m kick from Easty began some great play by Roley & Justin produced his magic for Roley. Brayden once again outstanding in the backline. A great mark by Trent with awesome teamwork by Easty, Brayden (25) & Aiden all working well to produce another point for Roley. Lakes 3-2 Roley 0-4.

Second quarter, Roley took possession quickly knocking the ball out for a point. Jake took a great mark in the goal square resulting in another point for Roley. The Tigers kept the ball in their half & worked hard but the Lakes came through scoring a goal. Brodie taking some great marks & Justin working through injury, Samuel came through & Liam kicked a goal. A big kick from Brayden (25) to Jackson resulted in a goal for Roley after a minute or two of scrappy footy. A 50m kick by Eric followed up with some exciting football with spectators on the edge of their seats. Jono doing some great shepherding assisting Jake proving Roley can work as a team. Great tackle by Jayden & Brayden (25) commended for his consistency getting the ball into Roleys forward. Lakes 7-6 Roley 2-7

Third quarter Jackson scored a goal after some hard work from Eric who tackled without mercy. Good attempt by Jono & Justin resulting in a point. Justin produced once again with Jack coming on field in time to kick a goal. Samuel working hard & Roley coming together to produce very entertaining football. Great hip & shoulder by Kye who continued to chase the ball. Brodie playing well & Eric protecting his team. Classic kick from Trentr resulted in a goal. Jackson working hard for possession of the football. A great quarter by Roleystone. Lakes 8-8 Roley 6-10.

Fourth quarter saw an awesome tackle by Jackson followed minutes later with a mark in the goal square producing a goal putting Roley within 3 points of taking the lead. Easty working well to get the ball into Roleys forward but the heat & fast pace beginning to take its toll on Roley. Final minutes of the quarter & the Tigers digging deep to continue getting possession of the ball however Lakes managed to regain the ball & run it hard straight into the goal posts. Roley fought back strongly missing the goals & retaliating with a point just as the final siren sounded.

The boys fought hard, played well & were a force to be reckoned with. They can hold their heads high & be proud of their efforts. Despite playing their final game of the season the 13s proved Roleystone will continue to produce spectacular football... Congratulations to all the boys... Go the mighty Tigers!
