Roleystone Vs Lakes Springdale Park

Perfect conditions for football. Bright skies, very slight wind blowing across the ground. The first few minutes were dominated by Lakes & played in their forward line but only 2 points were scored. Roley first forward thrust with a point to Trent followed closely by a goal to Jackson. The next few minutes were an arm wrestle with Roley breaking the dead lock with another shot at goal by Liam resulting in a touched point. 2nd quarter started with 2 free kicks to Roley, one from the centre & the 2nd in front of goal posts with Jack kicking a goal. Some good teamwork & a great lead from Liam resulted in the next goal also kicked by Liam. Lakes rushed the ball forward & kicked a quick reply & another to Lakes followed immediately. Jackson responded with a goal after some great hand balling through the forward line but Lakes answered back once again scoring from the next bounce & again following the next bounce. On the next bounce, Roley finally responded with a goal by Liam who deserved mention for his individual effort. A point by Jackson ended an entertaining quarter of football from both sides. Half time score Roley 6-4 Lakes 4-3

Lakes began 3rd quarter well with a goal & point scored. Roley took the ball forward with Trent scoring a point & after another arm wrestle by both sides Jackson scored for Roley. Lakes followed the bounce with a point, followed by another rushed point putting them in the lead. Jackson came through scoring another goal quickly followed by another from Liam. Fourth quarter Lakes opended up with a goal with Liam scoring once again for Roley. Forward line worked hard keeping up with Lakes to keep Roley on the score board. A great game with 2 evenly matched teams. Final scores Roley 10-5 to Lakes 12-9.
