U15s ROLEYSTONE vs FREMANTLE HAWKS 27.06.10

The first quarter began with good intensity and although Fremantle scored the first goal, Roleystone dominated this quarter with solid efforts in defence from Nick and Chris M and Brodie working well through the midfield allowing our tall forwards to capitilise on all opportunities. Ben C, Ben H, Curtis, Brandon (2 goals) and Courtney all dominating overhead with a return of 5-1 to Fremantles 1-1 for the quarter.

The second quarter began a little slowly for our boys, letting themselves down early with some undisciplined play and some poor disposal out of defence, but to their credit they pulled it together, began dominating the centre clearances and subsequently opportunities again became available for our forwards. Ben C and Curtis presented and created well and Jake was lively at ground level with Ben C, Ben H, Courtney, Curtis and Brandon all scoring goals. Ben H became a tower of strength and a real focal point at full forward, dominating the second half of the quarter finishing with 2 goals for the quarter. Roleystone 6-4 again out scored Fremantle 1 straight goal.

The third quarter saw our backline become our forward line and vice versa. The move had no effect on Roleystones dominance over Fremantle with our boys continuing on their merry way. Curtis, Brodie and Ben C all were solid contributors for the quarter with Roleystones overhead dominance again the major difference between the two sides. Strong marks again a feature with good examples from Luke, Curtis and Laurie. Goals for the quarter to Curtis (2), Matt, Luke, Ben C and Doug. Roleystone 6-2 again out scoring Fremantle 1 solitary point.

The final quarter saw Fremantle salvage some pride by scoring 3 goals for the term. This by no means was a reflection of the endeavours of Roleystone who continued on about their business as they had for the previous 3 quarters. Curtis, Ben C and Courtney all had solid contributions in this term and Brandon (2 goals), Ben H (2 goals) and an unsighted player all scored goals in this final term. Roleystone 5-2 to Fremantles 3-1 again dominated the quarter.

Final Score: Roleystone 22-9-141 defeated Fremantle Hawks 5-3-33
