"U14s team Winners are Grinners"!!!

"In an Away game against the Mundijong Centrals the Tigers were looking hungry for a win,  knowing that this could be the game to strike up a few more premiership points for the ladder"

The game commenced with Roleystone straight into attack with Lochie looking for Matt who was in fine straight kicking form booting through the first goal of the match.  The Roleystone attack at the ball was very promising with a great start to the Tigers with Clay, Adam and Michael taking some strong marks in the forward line as Michael put through a mighty goal and Matt sealing a great quarter of football with another goal for the Roley effort.  The Centrals were hot on Roleystone's tail showing some good play also,  as they came back with 2 goals to keep in touch with the Roleystone score.

The next quarter and it was again Roleystone in attack with a few scoring attempts with Jamie, Ollie, Mattt and Lochie dominating down the ground.  It was amazing that as the game progressed Ollie was a free agent  so his ability to be available in passing and movng the ball down the ground made a huge difference to the game plan as he looked to move it on to Lochie to kick his first goal of the match. This quarter was  great football by Roleystone, as more scoring attempts were had by the forwards, with the Roley points on the board that were still adding up for the scoreboard it was locked in the forward line as Darian, Lochie aimed for goal that finally paid off for Matt and Tom who scored a goal a piece.  The Centrals players were not giving up as the Roleystone defenders still had to fend off attack, great play to Cameron who was outstanding in defense and to David and Troy as they really worked hard in the backline.

The Second Quarter really stood out for the Roleystone team as they really pushed ahead being up by 4 goals going into the half time break.

Quarter three and it was Centrals into attack putting through a few goals in the start to keep in touch with the score board.  This was really the Centrals quarter with Roleystone having to fight harder throughout the ground as the Central players started to get more of a run on the ball and kick some more goals.    Ollie used his ability to be unmarked and free by kicking through 3 straight goals this quarter.  There was some great marking throughout the ground by the Roley players, of which included Jamie, Connor and Callum as they used the ball well , looking to Ollie who was the main goal scorer this term.

At the break Roleystone knew that this game was not over yet as the Centrals too were empowered to win and looked for a victorious end in sight.  Both teams were desparate for the win today it was just going to be which team could outlast the other by applying presure and kicking goals using teamwork, skills and 100% effort..  The words of "committment to the ball" were echoed in the Roleystone team huddle as this last quarter was going to be a big one to claim the win.

The last quarter was a very exciting term to watch as both teams battled it out for dominance.  Roleystone was applying good pressure down the ground with a great highlight going to Josh H as he took a rebound ball and under pressure kicked it over his head to score a terrific uplifting goal for the Roleystone effort as this was their first for the quarter.  Jamie and Lochie were instrumental in a great goal to Tom as he used his height and power as he pushed through to score a beauty.  This quarter was another great one for the Roley players with Matt booting through his fifth goal for the game and Connor scoring his first.  Although the score board wasn't correct throughout the game. It was clearly a fantastic win to the Roleystone 14s team with many great match highlights and play that everyone in the team can be proud of, as Centrals could have run away it,  yet the determination and willpower of a Roleystone win paid off in the end.

"Roleystone Wins at the final Score: Roleystone 17 goals 11 (100 points), to Mundijong 10 goals 6 (66 points)"

Great to hear our team song this week and look forward to match reporting next week as the Tigers taste victory once again this season!!!

"GO THE MIGHTY TIGERS"
