ROLEYSTONE v's BALDIVIS @ Springdale

On a beautiful Mothers Day, Tigers hosted top team Baldivis, and Roleystone were hungry for a win.  Baldivis won the 1st tap and scored a major within the 1st minute.  Their players were tall and playing in front, we needed to hold our marks, but a great run from the centre and booming kick by Jim M saw our 1st 6 points.  Andrew M came off with a shoulder injury, Tony S the same 5 mins later.  Baldivis were bumping hard and getting loose.  Our backs were working to get in front and there were lots of positives to take into the 2nd quarter.

Monty S lifted on the wing, Marcus W took a telling mark and it ended with a easy Tigers goal.  Baldivis got it back, but a great run from Monty s to Paul A in the forward 50 saw another major posted.  Alex N was working from the front down back stopping some certain shots on goals.  Tigers needed to man up and we needed clean hands.  Some hard running by Cody S moved the ball forward and resulted in a goal.  A lucky soccer kick by Lachlan S dribbled over the line right on the siren, Tigers only down by 13 points at the major break.

The 3rd quarter started with Brandon Mc running through his banner - celebrating his 50th game.  It stirred the boys and Tigers posted the 1st goal of the quarter.  Josh W pushed the ball forward along the wing, a great run, but Baldivis kicked up a gear and slotted 2 quick goals.  Tigers kept on running and were 17 points down at 3 quarter time.

Baldivis never dropped its guard and they lifted again to grab the first 2 goals of the quarter.  Some undisciplined play gave Baldivis another goal.  Our boys needed to play the footy and look for the yeallow and black.  Baldivis out scoring us in the last quarter to take the game by 43 points.
