"Roleystone U14s stand undefeated to play Lakes at their home ground"

The first quarter was a fast paced start to the game.  Great performances by Anthony, David and Troy in the backline exerting pressure on the Lakes players that were inaccurate in goal scoring.  Clay, Tom, Bryce, Lochie and Ollie were pushing the ball forward, when 11 minutes into the game Roleystone scored a goal via Clay to Tom who booted through a six pointer to bring Roleystone into the lead.  Within seconds another goal was on the board with Tom setting up a goal to Adam who put it through on a set shot in front of goals.  Great exchanges by Bryce, Lochie, Ollie to Michael who passed the ball to Adam  got the Roley crowd cheering for another fantastic goal!  Excellent efforts by Anthony and Connor this quarter in their attempts to stop Lakes in the forward fifty with great defensive play.  Another worthy highlight was Bryce clearing centre with Tom scooping up the ball  to Sam who was instrumental in a goal to Tom on the siren.

Great Quarter Roley!!

The next part of the game was dominated by Lakes whose players were quick on their feet, physical and were getting more accurate with the goal scoring as the game progressed.  Roleystone players Mathew, Jamie, Callum and Lochie were giving their 100% effort as desparate attempts to stop the Leopards run down the groung became apparent.  The Tigers really needed to lift their game was the call from the Coach at half time with more talking, sheparding, backing up manning up required for the next half of the game.

The third quarter saw a more determined, pressurised Roleystone enter the game with plenty of action centre and in defense.  Outstanding play by Darian who was taking on full ruck duties was fundamental in an exchange to Bryce onto Ollie to Jamie for a fantastic goal.  This lifted the spririts of the boys - who need to commit to to the ball and show to themselves that they can really work as a team - 100% effort was needed here!!

The final quarter starting with the Leopards running again and locking the ball in their forward line.  Roleystone players Cameron, Clay, Callum, Jamie, Bryce and Ollie were not giving up as tempo built up for a Roleystone run at goals.  Great positive efforts this quarter saw Ollie get two goals, Bryce one and Michael a goal.  Brendan was excellent this quarter as was Connor, Clay, Adam and Jake.  A fantastic end to the quarter Roleystone - we all know you can do it!!

A special mention to Adam, first game of the season and two goals!!  Also to all thoseTiger players who worked tirelessly out there - four quarters of footie - Well done!!
