SOUTH COOGEE v's ROLEYSTONE @ Santich Park

Roleystone Tigers travelled down to Santich Park for a Saturday night game on a cold clear May evening. 

Both teams were evenly matched, Sth Coogee were playing in front and having more shots on goal.  After 3 trys, they finally got a major.  Tigers neede to tighten up down back.  Some great work by Jeremy S on the wing got the ball to the forward line and Tony snapped a sneaky one, but Sth Coogee found their range and ended the quarter 13 points up.

Sth Coogee got a couple of early shots, but a lovely mark and kick by Tony S saw Tigers post another major. A minuite later big Jim belted one through.  Sth Coogee kept in front and runnig hard but right on the siren Steve C kicked a a burster and put us a point in front at the main break.

Tigers were late coming out and looked sluggish in the 3rd. Sth Coogee got the 1st major.  We were struggling in the forward 50, some pushes up forward were thwarted by Sth Coogee's tall.  They kept us goalless in the 3rd, they kicked 3

Tigers just werent running hard enough, the pressure wasnt intensive enough but a 50 mtr penalty worked in our favour and Andrew M socceered one through.  Tony S took a great mark soon after and kicked another major.  We were only 2 goals down with 7 mins to go.  After some hard work we got one of them, but Sth Coogee wee not going down without a fight, getting that 6 points back.  We were falling over with cramp and new boy Kallan M got a hard hit on the hip and head and went to ground just before the final siren.  Sth Coogee winning by 13 points.
