Match Report

"Roleystone U14s Great Start to the Season" 

The first game for 2010 season was a warm, sunny day at Santich Park with Roleystone taking on South Coogee White. 

The game started with Roleystone clearing centre and locking it down the forward line with Ollie and Lochie snapping some near misses,  with the first goal of the match going to Bryce   It was a terrific exchange by Ollie to Bryce back to Ollie for the second goal.  Great outmarking by Roleystone with Clay and Simon working hard,  with a fantastic goal to Tom.  Roleystone was clearly dominating this quarter, with Sam instrumental in a turnover by Bryce to Lochie onto Ollie was a goal.  Another sensational goal to Tom ended the quarter with Roleystone in the lead by 20 points.

The second quarter saw a quick goal to Coogee to keep them in touch followed by a behind to Ollie and Liam.  An exchange by Clay to Callum, hand pass onto Matt was a goal to Roleystone.  A few more goals to Coogee and play down their end saw Coogee catching up in this quarter.  The Roleystone backline was under pressure and was certainly getting plenty of action.  It was a great centre clearance from Ollie onto Callum back to Ollie for a much needed a goal to Roleystone  Ollie was reading the ball well with strong marks in the forward line, passing onto to Matt to Tom for a goal on the run.  There was courageous effort by Matt, intense pressure from Tom saw Roleystone still up by six goals at half time.

The third quarter commenced with Roleystone clearing centre with Tom and Ollie instrumental in a specky goal to Cameron.  A quick goal was answered by Coogee with Game On this quarter as Coogee upped the tempo with another goal.   An exchange by Ollie to Michael to Tom was a valuable goal to Roleystone.  Lochie was playing hard at the ball, Matt's excellent ball handling and with Connor's sheer determination was a goal to Roleystone. With Matt looking for a pass to Connor, exchanges by Bryce and Ollie onto Tom was another awesome goal to the Tigers tally. Roleystone was in a good position for the last quarter leading by 32 points.

The final quarter saw a more determined Coogee clearning centre but with Clay and Bryce's work in the pack and ball handling skills proved valuable with passages of play by Callum, Tom, harding running and kicking by Troy, picked up by Tom on to Ollie for a sensational goal.  Roleystone were using the ground well, working as a team as the last quarter showed the defence not giving up, David and Josh were pushing the ball forward as was Troy, Brodie and Callum.  It was an excellent passage play by Roleystone that highlighted the quarter, where Matt's strong mark in defence was the catalyst to moving the ball out of defence to Michael, picked up by Bryce kicking to Ollie to Tom for his fifth goal of the game.  Brodie and Clay were instrumental in getting the ball down the ground to the strong marking Ollie who secured his fifth goal for the match. A goal a piece to Callum and Simon in the last minutes well and truly cemented the victorious win to Roleystone with the final score being a tremendous 9 goal win.
