FREMANTLE HAWKS v's ROLEYSTONE @ Dick Lawrence Oval

On a beautiful autumn day, no hint of rain, Roleystone's 16/17's took on the Freo Hawks.  Jeremy S showed some pace on the wing, Steven C got some early touches with a couple of lovely marks in the middle, but it was a long kick by Andrew M that bounced through and brought up the 1st goal.  The second cam just minutes later after Monty S carried the ball forward from the bounce.  New play Aly N soccered on through, using his round ball skill well.  With 4 mins to go Freo finally scored.  Their 2nd goal for the quater coming in the last 10 seconds.  Tigers took a 21 point lead into the 1st break.

A great ruck knock by Brandon Mc sent the ball forward, but Freo had lifted a motch and stole the 6 points.  Tigers fought back, Josh W kicked straight and Jim M grabbed his 3rd.  Sean C was working hard, Lachlan S had a great run through the middle, Monty S found some targets up forward.  But loose kicking at goals saw 5 points scored.  Kale B ran hard along the wing.  Tigers 26 points up at half time.

Coach Sam asked for more pressure, more shepherding and more blocks for the second half.  His rousing works sparked the  boys, with Paul A grabbing 2 quick goals.  The boys all working harder.  Some quick hands from the centre break, with Josh W winning the tap saw the Tigers pile on the goals.  Jordan C was picking up some possessions, Tigers keeping the ball out of Freo's forward 50.  Our bous were really looking for each other - Freo kept to one scoring shot in the 3rd.

Freo jumped out of the blocks in the 4th quarter, a 50 meter penalty giving them a quick goal.  Tigers got it back plus 3 more, Brandon Mc now winning the ruck tap and sending up forward.  Freo was getting frustrated and one boy was issued with a yellow card - but Tigers focused and just kicked straight and scored goals.  Jim M finished with 8, Paul A with 4.

Roleystone running out winners by 85 points.  19.13-127 to 7.0-42
