On a cold crisp Saturday night the 15's travelled down to Santich Park to play under lights for the 1st time this season. The rain held off and South Coogee loved the fine conditions. The were on top in the 1st quarter, our boys finding it hard to get it out of their backline. They had 4 goals on the board before we scored. They were too tall and too fast in the 1st quarter.
South Coogee grabbed the 1st goal, but David stopped one foray forward with a great run through the middle. Our boys were trying and fighting for the ball. Alex scored from a quick snap and a 50 meter penalty 5 mins later saw Monty pop one through. They quarter was even wih Roleystone lifting and getter a few kicks go their way via the Umpires.
Cody, Sean L and Blake were all pressing hard for the ball but South Coogee's looseman tactic was working well for them. They were also marking strongly in front on the chest and up high. Michael was running hard and never gave up. Tony saw alot of the ball after a switch up back, but South Coogee had too many fitmen and ran over us.
Our boys tried hard but after Brandon came off we were left with only 16 men. A tough ask but we finished the game running hard and giving it our all. A bye next week will be a welcome rest for some tight groins and tired muscles.
Good game Tigers. |
