Roley ventured to Mundijong at the unusual time of 1 pm and on a windy and occasionally wet afternoon did battle. A few late and a couple of non-arrivals required some changes on the field however the boys adjusted quickly.

Due to the rain and wind, the ball was difficult to mark and often went over the back of packs. Jake Spanjers gained many early possessions and put on some good midfield tackling pressure. The midfielders played intelligently remaining across the half forward line and rebounding the ball any time it came out of the forward line. Eric Mitchell was again very solid across half back crashing the packs and sending the ball forward again. The first quarter was a 3 goal to 1 result for Roley.

Centrals gained a little confidence from having the wind in the second quarter; however Roleystone ran the ball out along the defensive wing several times and with some pin point passes maintained possession. The key to the quarter was the in and under work by James Myall-Brown, Jack Newman and Trent McDonnell. Travis Newland laid some good shepherds and blocks to clear a path for others. Newman ran from the back pocket linking up play and finishing with a goal. Spanjers continued to provide drive and pressure out of the middle.

The third quarter broke open with Roley adapting to the wind and dominating the centre clearances. Justin Burrows kicked 3 goals including one solo effort from the centre bounce. Jackson Hanna came into the game with a few marks and ground balls, dishing out the handball to set up a couple of goals. Centrals were under seige and never got the ball past their own half forward line. Roley achieved a 5 goal quarter and a big lead.

The final quarter was again into the wind but the spirit of Centrals was broken. Spanjers again ran hard out of the backline with Newland and Burrows consistently mopping up ground balls and misplaced kicks. Jackson Morfitt stepped up for a few good marks and a good solid goal and Newman was back in the game with another goal.

Finally an emphatic positive for Roley with something like a 14 to 2 goal line.

Despite a great team effort individual performances came from; Spanjers, Batley, Burrows, Morfitt, Newman, Myall-Brown, Mitchell and Newland.

Next week the boys represent South Fremantle in the half time Little League game.
