Saturday night football and on a cold crisp night Roleystone 14's headed to John Dunn to play under lights. It was another milestone game with Monty Sallur celebrating his 100th game. Well done Monty.
Kelmscott came out hungry for the ball, peppering their goals, backman Beau stood firm sending the ball forward and after some hard work the Tigers scored the first major. Kelmscott wanted that ball and made the space, taking some strong overheads, only poor kicking at goal kept Roleystone in the hunt. The Tigers needed to man up, Kelmscott making better use at the wide oval. The shadows on the ground caused some trouble for the Tigers, but after some hard work Calan grabbed a major, the second for Roleystone in as many minutes.
A lovely mark and kick along the wing by Monty saw Tony pop the ball through for another 6 points. Roleystone in command at the half time break.
After some strong workds from Coach Sam Roleystone hit the ground with some fire in the bellies and kept the ball in our forward half. Ryan lifted and peppered the goals, Calan saw a lot of the ball, Tigers kept Kelmscott scoreless that quarter.
Both teams worked hard in the last, Kelmscott grabbed the 1st 6 points but the Tigers lifted and ran all over them. Our theme song ran out over the oval. Go Tigers
Roleystone 7.18-60 Kelmscott 1.6-12 |
