The weather was fine and clear for the clash between the Tigers and South Coogee White, but the wind was bitingly cold and whipping across the ground. Roleystone was on a high from last weeks win and Blake Arnell celebrated his 50th game. Well done to Blake!
Brandon won the 1st tap but South Coogee got the 1st six points. Tigers had to fight for possession and Michael kicked a lovely goal. South Coogee were running harder and looser, and having more shots on goal. Tigers needed to lift.
South Coogee go the 1st 2 goals in the second quarter but Monty moved to the middle and kicked a goal. Micheal was working hard, Robert was on fire in the back line, Cody was taking some strong marks, but South Coogee were taller and were hungrier for the ball. Cody twisted his ankle and left us one short. South Coogee had their kicking boots on snaring 5 straight goals that quarter.
Tigers needed the break to lift and find the winning feeling. South Coogee came out on fire though running the ball clear from the centre and sending it down to their talls in the forward area. They had kicked 5 straight again before Ryan H got one back for the Tigers in front. We were winning the tap in the middle thanks to Brandon but South Coogee were to quick in the legs and were picking up the ball cleaner. We needed goals to put a dent in the scoreboard.
The Tigers lifted in the 4th quarter, Robert was terrific in the back line, Marcus ran hard on the wing, Chris tried all game. The tigers kept them goalless that quarter but lost the game by 52 points.
