Terrible Weather and a Change of Venue
1st QTR - Roleystone had a great start to quarter, cleared to forward 50 through smart handpassing by Storme, Nick and Sam. From there it was difficult for Roleystone to get the ball back into the forward half of the field. Forrestdale were able to score the first goal and then again in quick succession. Roleystone were struggling with their ball handling skills and Forrestdale managed to keep Roleystone scoreless. Sam, Luke, Nick and Ryan were standouts for the quarter.
2nd QTR - Roleystone again struggled with the ball again this quarter. By Roleystone not manning up, Forrestdale were able to continue peppering their goals, fortunately they were unable to convert the majority. Roleystone scored their first goal halfway throughout the quarter by Josh H. A fantastic centre bounce clearance and a free kick won by Ryan enabled another goal to be kicked by Callum. Roleystone were gaining their confidence back however seemed comfortable in letting Forrestdale take the lead and therefore they were able to convert goals on several occasions. Nick, Braydon, Jarrod and Josh were standouts for this quarter. 3rd QTR - A half time rev up from Tony to go for the ball harder seemed to have no effect as Roleystone’s inability to take marks, pick up the ball and man up worsened. Sam showed terrific skills throughout the quarter along with Nick, Storme and Luke. 4th QTR - Roleystone had fantastic start, a great clearance from Nick at the centre bounce created an opportunity for Callum to score a fantastic goal. Roleystone started to play with confidence and was winning the ball through strong contesting. Callum was able to score again and Roleystone seemed to be bouncing back. Forrestdale however remained too strong over the ball and were able to score several unanswered goals. Roleystone's poor ball handling skills let them down today along with their inability to contest the ball consistently. Unfortunately it was a game where there were few positives however through tough training the Tigers will be able to bounce back. |
