A very wet game with slippery conditions made a tight fought game with a very close result.

With the team only with 11 players available it was again not the best start of the day.  Fortunately Centrals had 21 players and provided four players for our team each quarter so both teams had 15 players on the ground each quarter.

The day was very wet and the start of our game showed as we struggled to cope with the wet ball and slippery ground, however Centrals were in the same position so it was a closely fought first quarter.  Centrals got away from us in the first quarter with some hard ball gets and while our movement into our forward was good our ability to keep it there and take advantage of it was not working our boys were too flat footed and needed to get in front.

A chat at quarter time and a few position changes made an impact with further movement in our forward but with a great defence Centrals repelled nearly all attacks.  Our boys tried hard but were playing very congested football and not allowing room to move for our layers once they had the ball.

The half time message was keep pushing, we have most of the play we just need to convert.  Our leading needs to be on the run and in front and we need to kick long and make space around the ball

The third quarter saw us claw back some of the lead with 3 goals and a few points with our boys making it very hard for Centrals to go deep in their forward line with our quick movement out back to our forward with excellent work again by Conner B, Matthew T and also Clay B.

The final quarter was a struggle and both teams fought hard to take the lead with heavy rain and even more slippery football.  In the end Centrals won by 3 points but for only having 11 players it was clearly evident had we had our full squad we would have been far stronger.

Great effort boys we are improving each week, consistency is the key here and to learn from each weeks game - keep going

This weeks award:  Clay B - well done Clay some excellent work
