13's Rnd 14 12/08/07 Roleystone v Centrals @ Springdale Park PDF Print E-mail

The recent heavy rains stayed away and Sunday was fine and clear for the 13's.  Josh Whitehouse led the boys out to celebrate his 50 game milestone, the spark the bous needed after last weeks loss. What a spark, Roleystone burst from the middle and Scott grabbed the 1st goal, a lovely straight kick. The Tigers were tighter in tackles this week and Centrals found it hard to work the ball to their forward 50. Josh B had a lovely run down the wing, Jordan worked very hard up back. Calan and Liam applied some great tackles in the mid field.

The second quarter was notable for a great run by Scott down the flank, which he topped off with a goal. The Tigers were team playing and some hard work resulted in another 6 points, a quick snap by Peter, he then grabbed a second one out of a pack. The Tiger comfortably in front at the main break.

Centrals lifted their work rate in the third, but the Tigers were able to match them. Alex was solid up back along with Cody. Centrals intensity was short lived though and the Tigers ran all over them winning that quarter hands down. Marchus tried all day, Tom ran hard, Ryan S had a good day on the paddock, Brandon won most of the hit outs in the centre. Monty bagged a couple of goals. The only sour note was a nasty ankle/knee injury to a Centrals player who was stretched off the ground in the last quarter.

Well done boys we showed them what a great team with great team play is all about.

Roleystone 9.11 (65)  Centrals 2.2 (14)
