12's Roleystone vs. Leda PDF Print E-mail
‘It’s a big ground got to run,’ shouts the coach in the pre match amble.

The siren sounds and within seconds Laurie has the ball and is lining up for goal, he drills it.

2 minutes later thanks to Ben C and Jake, Laurie has two.

Just as soon Laurie has three and Chima once again is in sparkling form.

It is soon four goals to Roleystone off Jakes boot, lucky for Leda it might have been five after Aaron spins out of a tackle but hits the post. The boys ball movement through the middle of the ground is nothing short of first class, with Nick Z dominating in the ruck and Brodie carving up the middle.

Siren sounds for the second quarter, free kick results and Dean hits Sam on the chest who then hits Ben H on the chest in front of goal (great play).

Play starts to get scrappy but gets locked into our forward line, but somehow out of the pack guess who – Laurie, now he has four!

Not to be outdone Jake slams another one through after a great pass from Dean.

The bench by now is running hot ‘interchange, interchange’ shouts the coach this is his biggest dilemma, as he demands fresh legs.

Towards the end of the quarter Scott takes a great mark and the sirens sounds.

Third quarter starts as second finished. Chima bursting through the middle finding Chris Hill in a forward pocket, then runs on to kick a great goal.

The ball was then kicked back and forward for a while, tough stuff the opposition were getting a bit toey and lets say the footy wasn’t there main objective, maybe after a bit of brilliance from Brodie selling the dummy great play but hits the post.

The points were flowing freely until another great goal by Chris H from the same spot.

Just as the Siren sounds Nick G had beaten an opponent kicked to Aaron (siren sounds ripped off) more great play boys.

By the fourth quarter opposition rattled and the banter between plays was humorous at the very least, with our boys looking after the boys being unfairly handled.

A free kick to Sam, results in short pass and mark to Ben H near goals, point results.

The boys all had a crack, Ryan took over rucking duties and was awesome, as were Curtis and Jake in the dying minutes of the game still defending like we were behind.

In all a fantastic effort, and a real team spirit from the boys at the moment, the kind that surrounds a champion team.

WELL DONE ROLEY.
