A strong start by the Roley boys kicking into a light breeze... a sunny morning with Roleystone initiating all the attacking early, the first goal scored by Ben C, who is in everything early. Good mark by Ben H running back with the ball. Goal to Ben H after another well fought after mark, excellent attacking football results in a goal to Jake. Hard football in the pack to Ben H, handball to Liam who capitalizes with a goal. Solid team play with Brodie and Nick Z combining well in defence, stopping a rare Armadale attack, play continues down to the forward line and a goal is scored by Callum. Excellent quarter with strong defence keeps Armadale scoreless.
The second quarter starts well with an early goal from Laurence, good teamwork continuing, goal to Ben H after a strong overhead mark and again, great attacking passage from the centre results in another goal to Callum. These boys are on fire!! Another good long goal by Sam, great pass from Brodie to Ben H who goals again, with the quarter ending in no score to Armadale. These boys would be dynamite if they had left foot skills, a few passes missed by trying to turn onto the right foot.
Third quarter is more aggressive as a more determined and frustrated Armadale side become desperate. Great passing from Brodie and strong marks taken by Ryan which eventually results in a goal. A tougher quarter for the boys.. only two goals and a stronger Armadale defence.
A fast break by Brodie to Curtis in the fourth quarter with Curtis converting from a very tight angle. Armadale are on the board with a point. A scrappy period of play resulting from a few tired legs, is eventually broken by a beautiful goal from Nick Z . Shortly afterwards, Nick Z marks strongly but can't convert. Abrilliant pick-up by Curtis from a kick-in and boots it through the goals. Overall a great game by the boys, consistent attacking structure, excellent teamwork and a solid strong defence keeps Armadale goaless. |
