What started out to be typical winter's day fined up for the start of the game... Jandakot scored the first goal and Roleystone player Liam matched the scoreline with some fine play which started in the middle of the field with good work from Dean and Brodie. Great defending from Josh and Laurence in front of goals. Strong marks taken by Brodie and Ben H. and a solid bump from Chris Mc.
Second quarter commenced with good play out of defence from Tom B... great tackles from Liam, Ben H and Brodie. In the back-line Brodie took a good mark then down field through to Josh, Aaron and Crhis H scoring a goal. Both teams equally competitive. The third quarter started out with Roleystone taking advantage of the wind and working consistently as a team... great defending from Curtis and a superb mark and goal by Aaron. With Ben H doing some fantastic physical bumping. In the centre, Dylan moved the ball to Liam who kicked towards the forward line which found Aaron who bumped and picked up the ball and snapped for goal... this was beautiful football to watch and without a doutbt Liam's determination to create the opportunity gave the Roley team the result they wanted!!
Final quarter commenced with Deano taking a great mark and passing the ball to Curtis in front of goals who kicked another goal for Roleystone. Strong team work in the middle of the field from Dylan, Laurence and Brodie. The coach was very pleased the boys gave a solid effort throughout the entire game given we were five players down... a competitive match with Roleystone finishing a few points ahead of Jandakot. |
