A chilly day at Springdale, and Matty Ostler warmed up proceedings with the first goal of the match. Jeremy followed soon after with the second, and Lochie was a key contributor to both. The Tigers were strong right across the paddock, and the defense of Captain for-the-day David, Liam, Josh and Adam stood up well. Ashleigh was doing a great job, with plenty of possessions.
There was no stopping Matty “the magnet” Ostler as he booted the first goal of the second quarter, courtesy of a great kick from brother Tom. Cameron A., Troy and Jeremy were combining well, and the Tigers’ much improved tackling and shepherding was really great to watch. Troy booted a great goal, Lochie followed up with another, And big Matty T. was doing some really strong work in the centre.
At half time the Tigers enjoyed some juicy oranges which were – believe it or not – even brighter orange than the coach’s lucky joggers!
After a couple of pings on goal by Troy and Cameron A., David scored a crazy bouncing torpedo goal from a free kick on the boundary, Josh threaded one through, and within a minute Cameron A. put one straight through the sticks. It’s rainin’ goals, hallelujah!! Josh finished the quarter with yet another major.
Cameron M. opened the scoring in the final quarter, as once again play was bottled up in the Tigers’ attacking half. Josh ices the cake, and scores the last goal for the match.
