11's Rnd 13 18/08/07 Roleystone vs. Forestdale @ Springdale Park PDF Print E-mail
An exciting and unusual start to the game, with Matty Ostler chasing down a kick into the forward line from Lochie, and  taking out the goalpost in the process! Adam took two great marks in defense and  followed up with good kicks, directly to team-mates. Lochie was getting plenty of the ball on the wing, Jeremy and Bryce were doing really well in the centre of the ground. Forrestdale had quite a few shots on goal resulting in behinds, before they scored three goals in quick succession.

The second quarter saw the Tigers make another foray into the forward line, but the ball was soon down the other end. Jadeon took a strong mark, Cameron A. and Tom were working well together and keeping it moving through the middle, and Cameron M. was providing good clearances from our defensive area.

After bottling it up in the forward line Matty had a shot on goal but was slung while kicking, and only a point resulted. Soon after Ashleigh handballed to Matt who then handballed to brother Tom, and our first goal was on the board. Shortly before the half time siren Matt Theobald had a shot, but only a minor score resulted.

Jeremy started things off in the third quarter, kicking a goal after a messy pack formed on the Tigers half forward line. Forrestdale responded with one of their own straight afterwards, but Matt O. replied with another Roley goal straight after that. Tom was kicking beautifully and combining well with Lochie, ultimately allowing Matt T. to kick his second. Bryce and Jeremy were having plenty of shots on goal, finishing the quarter strongly for the home team.

In the final quarter David was swung into the centre, and straight away got lots of touches. Tom’s shot on goal was just touched through, and similarly Cameron M.’s couple of shots within a minute were to no avail. Tom’s run continued, and Matt T. took a courageous running mark. Cameron M. then put a perfect drop punt through for  a goal after taking  a great stretching mark. Liam was working like a demon to keep the ball alive in the forward line, Roley were locking it in well. Davo copped a high tackle and booted the ball to Cameron M. who once again took a good grab, but his shot for goal was also touched on the line.

Matt O. put the icing on the cake, goaling courtesy of a nice pass from Jeremy.
